BRIDAL INDUSTRY UNITES FOR GOWN SALE TO BENEFIT VICTIMS OF THE SEPTEMBER 11TH TRAGEDY

New York, NY (October 15, 2001) - Vera Wang, Reem Acra, Carolina Herrera, Badgley Mischka and Nicole Miller are just some of the designers who will participate in a charity sale of bridal gowns sold at wholesale prices to benefit the Twin Towers Orphan Fund. The event, organized by Bridal Guide magazine, will take place Friday and Saturday, November 2nd and 3rd, at a 6,000-square-foot loft space in Manhattan.

As many as 1,000 gowns are being donated by virtually every designer in the bridal industry. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the charity. "The bridal industry has strong ties and deep roots in New York City, and support from the industry has been overwhelming - no one even hesitated when we approached them with the idea of the sale," said Bridal Guide president Barry Rosenbloom. "We are grateful to everyone involved."

The sale will be held Friday, November 2nd from noon until 9:00 p.m, and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., at 30 West 26th Street, Sixth Floor, between Broadway and Sixth Avenue. The space was donated by Hand Shake Dynamics, a boutique consulting firm, which holds the lease.

Dozens of designers and manufacturers will be donating gowns with price ranges from Christina Wu at $150 and Alfred Angelo at $250, to upwards of $4000 for designers such as Vera Wang and Reem Acra. For more information, visit www.bridalguide.com.
