Survivors' Fund of the Community Foundation of the National Capital Region
The Survivors' Fund will focus on the long-term educational, health, income maintenance and other needs of individual victims and their families in our region. Caseworkers will assess each family, determine their needs and help families obtain necessary services. Anyone who believes that they may be eligible for assistance through the Survivors' Fund should contact Northern Virginia Family Service at 1-866-99-4-HOPE (866-994-4673)

American Red Cross Health Insurance Subsidy Program
American Red Cross September 11 Recovery Program is announcing the extension of its Health Insurance Subsidy Program (HISP) from 12 months of coverage to 24 months. HISP provides subsidies to cover the full out-of-pocket cost of health insurance premiums for physically injured individuals and surviving family members of people who died as a result of the 9/11 attacks. Assistance through this program is not based on financial need. HISP can pay for dental insurance, vision insurance and major medical health insurance such as a HMO and PPO. Applications must be submitted by December 31, 2004 to be considered. Call 877-746-4987 for general eligibility information.

FEMA offers a broad variety of disaster assistance, such as low-interest loans, housing assistance, grants, counseling, legal advice, and disaster preparation tips. Financial Advice Referral Program
Operated by the 9/11 United Services Group, the Financial Advice Referral Program is designed to assist the families of victims and those severely injured by the events of September 11 in the management and investment of the money they may receive from the Federal Government's September 11th Victim Compensation Fund or other sources. If you know of a child who lost a parent on September 11, 2001, please register with Twin Towers Orphan Fund. This will help TTOF identify and qualify those children who are in most need of our help -- now and in the future.

TTOF provides higher educational assistance, as well as physical and mental health care assistance to the children who lost parents on September 11, 2001.
